5G demonstrative applications - Cooperative DPKV systems using 5G technologies – pilot project

The project will enable the creation of a C-ITS corridor in the central part of Karlovy Vary and thus real testing services of C-ITS technology using 5G networks.

The purpose of cooperative systems in the early phase of their implementation is to bring targeted, timely and high-quality traffic information to drivers while providing up-to-date traffic information for transport operators, road managers and public transport users.
In particular, the benefit is a significant saving of money and time required to build static
infrastructure for cooperative systems on the territory of the city of Karlovy Vary.

Through the implementation of the project the following will be achieved:

• Improved efficiency of public service provision - urban and extra-urban public transport in the agglomeration
• Provision of selected key data in the field of public transport to the Statutory City of Karlovy Vary
• Making the region more attractive through improved comfort and quality of public transport services
• Ensuring greater economy and efficiency of public transport
• Ensuring greater safety, fluidity and barrier-free operation in public transport
• Promoting modern technologies through the use of 5G technologies
