The Research Executive Agency (REA) received 11573 project proposals for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Individual Fellowships (IF) by the call deadline, on 9 September. This represents a 17% increase compared to 2019. The call makes available €328 million to fund the projects of researchers who have a doctoral degree or at least four years’ full-time research experience in any scientific domain. Social Sciences and Humanities, Life Sciences, and Information Science and Engineering are the most popular panels. See below the number of proposals received per panel: 10 576 researchers applied for a European Fellowship, while 997 researchers applied for a Global Fellowship. Projects will be selected for funding with the support of some 4 000 external independent evaluators drawn from the European Commission's experts' database. Evaluations are expected to start late September and the selection results will be known by 9th February 2021, at the latest.
