EU energy in figures: key EU energy data in your pocket

Energy statistical pocketbook 2020

Since 2013, renewable energy has been the leading source of electricity in the EU. And between 2005 and 2018 the EU was able to reduce gross inland energy consumption (-7.7%) and greenhouse gas emissions (-18.6%), while increasing GDP (+18.5%).

The above statistical facts and many more are available in the latest “EU Energy in Figures” energy statistical pocketbook (2020 version). It provides energy statistics for all EU countries and the EU as a whole, covering areas including energy balances, energy production and consumption, electricity capacities, energy prices, main energy indicators, socio-economic data and the impact of the energy sector on climate. You can also find an energy profile for each EU country, as well as details of each country's progress towards the EU's 2020 climate and energy targets.

The statistical pocketbook 2020 is available online, and the printed version will be available soon.
