We are

The Office for Infrastructure and Logistics in Brussels (OIB) carries out all activities relating to staff accommodation, manages the Commission's social infrastructure and logistics in Brussels and the social infrastructure on the Ispra site.

Within the Department OIB.RE, in charge of real estate management, the unit OIB.RE.1 "Implementation of the buildings policy, management of the building stock and projects", has about 50 staff and fulfils two main tasks:

  • The sector RE.1.001 manages the space planning for the various services, drafts fit-out plans, and the supports the services with the change process;
  • The sector RE.1.002 manages construction, development, and renovation projects for buildings. These are medium-sized projects up to projects of more than 200 Mio €.

We propose

We propose a job as Project Manager within sector OIB.RE.1.002. The sector counts 16 people in
charge of about 20 real estate projects and the management of as-built documents. The position
consists of:

  • direct management of projects in all their aspects, including programming, drafting of specifications in coordination with external experts, organization of service and work contracts, follow-up of permit applications, follow-up of execution until final approval;
  • coordination, control and management of budgetary and contractual aspects of the projects under its responsibility;
  • to support the sector with the transversal tasks entrusted to him/her by the Head of sector, whether they are of an administrative nature or technical support to other projects. The candidate may be asked to support the Head of Sector with the management of the team when necessary.

The position involves frequent coordination with different departments within the Office and the
Commission as well as with the actors of the real estate market.

We look for

A motivated colleague with an engineering degree or equivalent, experience in team management and experience in project management in the fields of construction and engineering.

A colleague with good conduct of one of the official languages of the European Union and a knowledge of another of these languages. For operational reasons, a good knowledge of French and/or English is required.

A professional experience in the fields of building services, in particular HVAC and electricity (design, execution and/or maintenance) would be an asset.
