We are

The mission of the PMO (Paymaster Office or Office for the administration and payment of individual entitlements) is to provide a high-quality and user-friendly service to beneficiaries by promptly and accurately managing, determining and paying individual rights and expenses (e.g., salaries, pensions, sickness insurance reimbursements and mission expenses).

The vacant post to be filled is in the sector of reimbursement of travel expenses (002). This sector is about 40 dynamic people comprises three teams and is responsible for:

  • Travel costs incurred by staff covered by the Staff Regulations of the Commission and other bodies managed by PMO.5;
  • Travel costs incurred by external persons (experts and candidates) invited by the Commission and other European bodies to attend external meetings and/or interviews and/or medical examinations with a view to possible recruitment;
  • Contracts and financial management.

We propose

We propose a very interesting job as Assistant in the contracts and finance management team (9 people).

You will assist the Team Leader in the coordination and monitoring of the resources and activities of the Team Contracts and Finance in the Travel management sector, in the operational management of the interinstitutional framework contracts related to business and professional travel, and in the follow-up the invoicing cycle with the travel agency approved for the European Commission. You will provide training if needed and replace the Team Leader in case of absence when so required.

We look for

A dynamic, well-organised and motivated colleague, with a good knowledge of the rules on administrative and budgetary management, able to organize his/her work in a structured way and showing a strong sense of initiative and pragmatism.

The candidate should communicate clearly in a structure manner orally and in writing skills and be able to work in a small team, as well as independently.

Eye for detail, strong-service oriented attitude, ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks as well as flexibility to adjust to new requirements are requested.

A proven experience in the field of financial and procurement procedures of at least 2 years is essential.

In PMO we work both in French and in English. Knowledge of additional languages is an asset. In addition, the ideal candidate should be able to:
