Using United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as a compass for Europe’s recovery
The European Commission is committed to the implementation of the 2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and puts the Green Deal at the centre of Europe’s recovery efforts. In the context of the United Nation’s High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, the European Commission and the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union will organise a side event on 14 July 2021 titled “Using United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as a compass for Europe’s recovery”.
Join Commissioners Urpilainen and Gentiloni and explore success stories, challenges and lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic as Europe recovers. The event will also take stock of EU action in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals, underscoring its whole of government approach, the global perspectives for recovery and the need for a strong global partnership, and look ahead to the opportunities and how to best address the many interconnected challenges of a sustainable recovery at all levels.
The High-Level Political Forum is the main United Nations platform on sustainable development. It has a central role in the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the global level.
