Description

The general objective of the contract will be to test the Ecolabel draft criteria developed by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) in "real life", by applying them to a sample of UCITS equity investment funds.

In this context, the contractor shall define a representative sample of green UCITS equity funds, assemble the complete listing of their portfolio assets, analyse the underlying investments i.e. the level of taxonomy compliant activities by the issuers included in the portfolio, categorize the issuers according to their compliance with pre-defined thresholds linked to the EU-taxonomy and analyse whether the selected investment funds will meet the draft EU Ecolabel criteria. The findings of the study will be used as important evidence to be taken into account in the phase of finalisation of the criteria to be fulfilled by financial services linked to specific financial products (equity investment funds) to be eligible for the EU Ecolabel. The objective is to strike the right balance between achieving environmental excellence and allowing the best existing financial services available on the market to be eligible for the EU Ecolabel.
