Three times is a tradition. On 24 November 2009 the young European generation was once again challenged to step into the shoes of a translator. This time around the contest was open to aspiring translators born in 1992. We're sure some of them will have ended up following the same path as previous winners, going on to study languages and translation at university, in the hope of pursuing a career as a translator.
This opportunity to meet young people interested in languages, in person when it comes to the winners, and through their translations when it comes to all other participants, has become an inspiring moment for all of us involved with the contest. Our thanks to all teachers and other school staff who put in much time and effort to make this possible.
