The Commission's Coordinator on combating racism

In 2020 the Commission adopted a EU Anti-racism Action Plan 2020-2025. Its implementation requires the appointment of a Commission coordinator for anti-racism.

The coordinator liaises closely with people with a minority racial or ethnic background and relay their concerns to the Commission. The coordinator interacts with Member States, the European Parliament, civil society and academia to strengthen policy responses in the field of anti-racism. In addition, the coordinator joins forces with Commission services to implement the Commission's policy on preventing and combating racism.

Michaela Moua is the first ever nominated Coordinator (2021).
