The facts and figures component is used to highlight quantifiable information. It can present statistics, achievements, or other quantifiable information in an easy-to-scan format.

The facts and figures component is used to emphasise and illustrate a small number of items. It should not be used to communicate large amounts of data. How to build this in the Europa Web Publishing Platform (EWPP)
The multi-column layout is used to easily compare, illustrate or accentuate the numerical values within their corresponding content and context. Get the code and specifications

When to use

  • when you have multiple pieces of content, within the same context, that have a numerical property you want to highlight

When not to use

  • do not use for individual pieces of content - use featured item instead
  • do not use for content that is not quantifiable

Dos

  • follow the Web writing guidelines for Numbers in order to maintain institutional consistency
  • keep your labels short (2-3 words)
  • if using icons, consult the ECL Icon library to find a representative icon for the metrics that you wish to reference
  • use the 'more' link below when you want to link to more detailed data

For developers:

If needed you may create your own icons, but they should follow the same style as the ECL icons.

Don'ts

  • do not use anything other than a numerical value in the Figure field, followed by the corresponding metric that is stated in the label field
  • do not vary the description text in terms of length, as this will create an uneven grid
  • do not use the label field for descriptions (shown below)
