This year we mark 10 years of G20 Leader's Summits with the 2018 Summit taking place on 30 November – 1 December in Buenos Aires (Argentina).

The EU – a full member of the G20 – will be represented at the Summit by the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, and the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk. They will address key topics of the EU agenda, ranging from globalisation, trade and economics to climate change, migration and the fight against terrorism.

The theme of this year's Summit is "Building consensus for fair and sustainable development".
The focus will be on:

  • The future of work: unleashing people's potential;
  • Infrastructure for development: mobilising private resources to reduce the infrastructure deficit;
  • A sustainable food future: improving soils and increasing productivity.

In their joint letter ahead of the Summit, Presidents Juncker and Tusk highlight the key issues they will bring to the discussions with world leaders.

A brochure, containing the letter, as well as key facts and figures on the EU and the G20, provides an overview of the EU's work in shaping global affairs and championing multilateralism.
