Turku Protein Core

Turku Protein Core ensures high-quality research infrastructure for protein sciences in Turku, and broadens and enhances user access in
order to support top-end research and industrial use.

It provides expertise in protein sciences to lower the barrier of entry for researchers new to the research field to initiate studies and carry out multi-disciplinary research projects.

TuProtCore is firmly embedded in the thematic research areas of all partners, University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University, and Turku Bioscience.

Turku Protein Core's open access policy will make the research infrastructure also available for the local biotechnology industry, which is one of the economic strengths of Southwest Finland, and will help green transition and circular economy through development of fermentation-based products, enzyme improvements for bioenergy and bioremediation.
