Copyright: Municipality of Ajdovščina The project aims to develop high-quality, safe, and sustainable tourism infrastructure for the Kastra tourist attraction. It strives to elevate the quality and competitiveness of the Nova Gorica and Vipava Valley tourist destination, with a focus on the Ajdovščina municipality.The project aims at a sustainable transformation of the public tourism infrastructure of the Ajdovščina through the reconstruction and construction of a new public tourist infrastructure in Kastra. As part of the project, the municipality plans to renovate a staircase, a transparent platform and a castle garden. The project also aims to develop three new tourism products: ""Adventure Coaching kastra"", ""Roman for a Day"" and ""To Kastra for Well-being"".The restoration of the castle garden and Roman Tower No. 8, which will become an observation tower, will create a distinctive tourist point for the municipality and city. Tower No. 8 is the best-preserved tower in the northeast wall of Kastrae. Built to a height of 22 meters in the Middle Ages, the ancient part remains up to a height of 7 meters, with a diameter of 8.80 meters and walls 3.05 meters thick, resulting in an internal diameter of only 2.7 meters.The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides funding of EUR 240,848, while the total investment is worth EUR 780.807,10.
