The first objective of the SNRRS focuses on the reduction of seismic risk at the national level, through priority and effective investments leading to the saving of lives, the protection of assets and the reduction of material damages. In order to maximize the results related to the invested funds, an important factor regarding the efficiency of the investments in the reduction of the seismic risk consists in the prioritization of the built fund. The second of the SNRRS aims to ensure associated benefits regarding the improvement of the sustainability and functionality of the built fund, respectively for the improvement of social inclusion. Thus, investments to reduce seismic risk will create associated benefits in terms of energy efficiency and sanitary conditions, along with other aspects related to the functionality of buildings. The third objective of SNRRS, increasing resilience, is achieved by integrating aspects of seismic risk in territorial and sectoral planning and by ensuring post-disaster recovery and reconstruction processes to increase the resilience of the built stock and communities. The fourth objective of the SNRRS refers to increasing public awareness of seismic risk and promoting participation and action including the implementation of risk reduction measures.
