Biography
Zbyněk Stanjura was born in Opava, the Czech Republic. His alma mater is the Brno University of Technology where he attained master's degree in the electronic computers course.
After the fall of Communism, he started a company with several of his classmates and worked there as a programmer and manager for 11 years.
Interest in his town of birth led him to local government. For 17 years, he was an Opava city representative and mayor for 8 years. He later applied this experience in the Chamber of Deputies (Parliament of the Czech Republic) where he has been serving as its Member since 2010. He was the Minister of Transport from December 2012 until August 2013. In December 2021, he was appointed Minister of Finance.
