Alison Graves

Alison Graves is currently Head of Unit for Multilingualism and Succession Planning in DG Interpretation and Conferences in the European Parliament and acting Head of Unit for Interpreter Training. She graduated from the Conference Interpreting Programme at the University of Bath, UK in 1988 and began working as a freelance conference interpreter in Brussels, becoming a staff member of the English booth in the European Parliament in 1994. Based on a career-long involvement in training and outreach activities for interpreters, her work now includes initiatives to bridge the gap between academic and professional life for conference interpreters and leveraging new technologies for training, selection and testing.
