Biography

Horst Teltschik became known as Helmut Kohl’s Foreign and Security Policy Advisor. His political career was crowned by the German reunification. As Head of the Department for Foreign and Inner-German Relations at the West-German Chancellery, he was instrumental in preparing the decisive negotiations leading up to the German reunification. Among others, he held numerous talks with Mikhail Gorbachev that paved the way to German’s full sovereignty.

Following his work for the German Government, Horst Teltschik became a Board Member of BMW AG. From 1999 to 2008, he led the Munich Security Conference, which he turned into a global discussion forum.
