Reinventing Plastics - Closing the Circle

The European Commission is organising the conference "Reinventing plastics - Closing the circle" to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the new strategy for plastics that is under development. At EU level more than 1.4 million people work in the plastics industry, which is worth over EUR 350 billion each year, but opportunities are being missed because of low recycling rates and a high reliance on virgin materials. The coming plastics strategy will aim to improve framework conditions for investment and innovation, and help the industry become more circular and resource-efficient, bringing more jobs and further growth.
