Green Consumption Pledge Initiative - event announcing additional pledging companies and roundtable to explore next steps

The Green Consumption Pledge Initiative aims to encourage voluntary commitments, beyond legal obligations, made by businesses to increase the sustainability of production and consumption, and therefore accelerate the contribution of business to a sustainable economic recovery and build consumer trust on the environmental performance of companies and products.

Commissioner responsible for consumer policy, Didier Reynders launched the pilot phase of the Green Consumption Pledge on 25 January 2021, with the pledges of five companies.

The purpose of this second event was to 1. present the commitments of six additional companies, and to 2. hold a roundtable to take stock of the pilot phase of the EU Green Consumption Pledge Initiative, with European Commissioner Mr Didier Reynders and five European representatives of citizens, consumers and businesses.
