The second Juvenes Translatores contest was held in every EU member country on Thursday 27 November 2008:

  • schools participating - 593
  • pupils doing the contest - 2 247
  • different language pairs used - 147

This second contest was a rewarding experience for all of us here at the Commission. Judging from the feedback we had, the participants felt the same.

We're particularly happy that some schools were inspired to launch language exchanges with their counterparts abroad. Hopefully there will be more of this in future.
