CloseThis event has ended. The second plenary meeting of the stakeholder consultation forum dealing with carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS Forum) will take place on 27 and 28 October 2022 in Oslo, Norway. The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy will co-host the event. The Forum is designed to involve representatives of the EU institutions, EU and third countries, NGOs, business leaders and academia to facilitate the deployment of CCUS technologies. Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson will open the Forum with a keynote speech setting out a strategic vision on carbon capture and storage (CCS) and carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) towards 2050. After the online edition last year, this year's plenary session will be co-hosted by Norway and will be held in a hybrid mode from Oslo. The first edition of the Forum stressed the need for a sustained stakeholder dialogue which took the form of three working groups dealing with a strategic vision of CCS and CCU, CO2 infrastructure and an industrial partnership. The 2022 edition will try to wrap up the work of these groups and will discuss other key issues for the sector, setting priorities for next year and helping the European Commission in its policy work on CCS and CCU. Registrations for in-person attendance are now closed, but interested participants can still register to attend the event online. Live-streaming will also be available.
