Leading on the green and digital transformations in a changing world is the driving force of this Commission. This is our generational task and opportunity. We have used the first 100 days to set a direction and have taken the first major steps on that path.
Delivering on the promise
In her Political Guidelines and Mission Letters, President von der Leyen promised to hit the ground running. In the first 100 days, the European Commission has delivered on its commitments, and:
- DAY 11
presented the European Green Deal, setting out a roadmap of how to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 while boosting the economy, improving people's health and quality of life, and leaving no one behind.
- DAY 45
unveiled the European Green Deal Investment Plan that should generate 1 trillion euro of investments, from public and private sources, and unleash a green investment wave.
- DAY 45
proposed a Just Transition Mechanism, to ensure no one is left behind. This should mobilise at least 100 billion euro to help the regions, industries and workers who will face the greatest challenges of the green transition.
- DAY 45
launched a first phase consultation of social partners – businesses and trade unions – on the issue of a fair minimum wage for workers in the EU, a stepping stone in building a strong social Europe for just transition.
- DAY 62
launched a first phase consultation of social partners – businesses and trade unions – on the issue of a fair minimum wage for workers in the EU, a stepping stone in building a strong social Europe for just transition.

launched public consultations to shape Europe’s Beating Cancer Action Plan. Supporting Member States to improve cancer prevention and care is a priority for the Commission in the area of health.
- DAY 67
adopted a new methodology for EU accession negotiations – to make them more credible, predictable and dynamic. This is the first element in a renewed enlargement strategy the Commission is introducing.
- DAY 79
stood in solidarity with Albania after the devastating earthquake in late 2019. Out of the €1.15 billion total pledged at the Donors’ Conference, the EU, its Member States and the EIB announced €400 million for the reconstruction of Albania.
- DAY 81
set out an agenda to shape Europe’s digital future. We delivered strategies on data and Artificial Intelligence, opening new opportunities for businesses, while focusing on trustworthy technology for citizens.
- DAY 89
advanced our partnership with Africa, via the EU Strategy with Africa, enabling us to work together on common challenges – from climate change, to peace and security, to migration.
- DAY 93
set up the Coronavirus Response Team bringing together all the different strands of EU action. We are working on all fronts to support EU Member States and strengthen international efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19.
- DAY 95
proposed a European Climate Law, to transform political promises into legal obligations. We set a legal commitment to a climate-neutral EU by 2050 and a mechanism to keep everybody on track.
- DAY 95
given Europeans centre stage at the heart of the green transition by launching the Climate Pact for regions, local communities, civil society, industry and schools. Together they will design and commit to a set of pledges to bring about a change in behaviour, from the individual to the largest multinational.

adopted the Gender Equality Strategy, setting out a vision, policy objectives and actions to make concrete progress on gender equality.
- DAY 101
unveils the Industrial Strategy, our plan for a future-ready economy, embedding the green and digital transformations at the centre of European industry. It will fully integrate SMEs, who gain most from the single market.
