The European Commission manages and archives documentation related to its activities and decisions. Standard rules ensure that the Commission is always able to make this documentation available. Furthermore, an expert group meets regularly to coordinate and advise the Commission on matters relating to its archives.

Data, information and knowledge management

On 18 October 2016 the Commission adopted a corporate strategy on data, information and knowledge management. This new approach aims to improve the way in which data, information and knowledge are gathered, managed, shared and preserved, and by developing new opportunities for collaborative working.
